Thank you very much for taking an interest in our new television series Saving Country Houses With Penelope Keith (working title).
This summer, we’re looking to film at a number of country houses spread across the UK. We’ll explore the unique history of each property and its estate whilst telling a thoroughly modern story of owners working hard to meet the challenges of running a centuries-old home in 2025.
The series is being made for Channel 4/More 4 in the UK, but we expect it to be shown in other parts of the world too. The series will be fronted by Dame Penelope Keith.
Are you a passionate owner of a historic country house? Will you be conserving or renovating aspects of your property this summer? Do you have plans and new initiatives for how your estate is run? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We understand that summer can be an extremely busy time for houses and estates, but this is also the time when projects and initiatives are in full swing - community events, agricultural ventures, diversification projects… or simply saving the roof from falling in! We’re hoping to showcase the real world of Britain’s country houses, whilst celebrating their place in our national heritage.
We do not anticipate that participation in this series will be hugely disruptive or onerous. We expect around five filming days would be needed for each home, spread over the summer. The core team on location would mostly be just two people – a Director and an Assistant Producer – who you would get to know and be able to discuss plans with in advance.
